Lemon Basil, also called Hoary Basil (for its fuzzy stems), is a hybrid cross between traditional basil and lime basil.

The bright green leaves have a sweet lemony aroma and a tangy lemon-anise flavor that’s best used fresh in seafood dishes, fruit salads, lemonade, cocktails, and salad dressings. Add at the end of cooking to preserve the citrus flavor, then garnish with the edible flowers.

Harvest the leaves and stems from the top part of the plant, and pinch off edible flower buds as they appear, which prevents the leaves from turning bitter, and signals the plant to branch out and grow more leaves, making a bushier plant.

The more you harvest, the more it grows!

  • Tangy lemon-anise flavor
  • Culinary and medicinal
  • Good for indoor gardens
  • Good for containers
  • Tons of medicinal benefits!

As a medicinal herb, Basil has been used internally to treat anxiety, colds, colic, cough, depression, diarrhea, fever, flatulence, flu, indigestion, insomnia, intestinal parasites and worms, exhaustion, gastric pain, gonorrhea, lactation problems, migraine headache, nausea, stomach cramps, sore throat, and vomiting, and externally to treat acne, insect bites and stings, loss of smell, skin problems, snake bites.

    Aromatic and Lovely
I had a tiny bit of difficulty with germination but BOY was it worth it. I think my lemon basil has surpassed my lemon thyme as favorite cooking herb. Absolutely lovely.

    Great germination rate...lovely smell
Very easy to grow, with excellent germination rate. The leaves have a lovely smell. I like to make lemon basil simple syrup to add to cocktails, but this can be used in all sorts of salads and dishes.

    Okay germination
I sowed 15 Basil Lemon seeds and got around 5-6 sprouts. They sprouted around 3-4 days after sowing so that was sooner than I expected. Maybe I need to sow a lot more seeds than just 15 to get more to germinate. But as for now, I can’t wait for the basil to grow! I’m really curious to know how they ...

    Great Germination Rate!
I just love that these grow so easily, just after a couple days I saw sprouting occur, and the germination rate was very satisfactory! I sowed quite a few seeds in the hope that at least half of them took but I'm very impressed with having almost all my seeds germinate. A great batch of seeds as per...
